Radhika Merchant, Isha Ambani, and Shloka Mehta: The Tradition of ‘Phool Dupatta’ in Ambani Weddings
Radhika Merchant, soon to be wed to Anant Ambani, the youngest son of Mukesh and Nita Ambani, has been turning heads with her pre-wedding looks. As the Ambani family hosts lavish pre-wedding festivities, Radhika’s haldi ceremony on July 8, 2024, at their luxurious home, Antilia, stood out.
Radhika looked breathtakingly beautiful in a custom Anamika Khanna lehenga-choli adorned with intricate floral motifs. What truly caught everyone’s eye was her phool dupatta, which featured rows of white and yellow flowers, enhancing her beauty. She completed her look with minimal floral jewelry, ditching the heavy bridal accessories.
The Ambani Tradition of Phool Dupatta- Isha Ambani and Shloka Mehta
The tradition of wearing a phool dupatta seems to be a cherished one in the Ambani family. Both Isha Ambani and Shloka Mehta wore similar dupattas during their wedding celebrations. In June 2018, Priyanka Chopra shared a picture on her Instagram stories featuring Isha and Shloka, both wearing real flower dupattas.
The difference between Radhika’s dupatta and those of Isha and Shloka is that Radhika’s was made entirely of flowers, while Isha and Shloka’s dupattas had a colored fabric attached to the floral arrangement. Additionally, Radhika’s dupatta featured two colored flowers, whereas Isha and Shloka’s were adorned only with white flowers.
Isha Ambani and Shloka Mehta’s Weddings
Isha Ambani married Anand Piramal in December 2018 in a grand ceremony at Antilia, Mumbai. The couple welcomed twins, Aadiya and Krishna, in 2022. Akash Ambani, Isha’s brother, married Shloka Mehta in March 2019. Their three-day wedding ceremony was held at the family-owned Jio World Centre. Akash and Shloka are parents to two children, Prithvi and Veda.
