Isha Ambani Piramal, the 32-year-old daughter of Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani and Nita Ambani, has openly discussed her experience of conceiving her twins through IVF (in-vitro fertilization) in a recent interview with Vogue India. Isha Ambani talks about her IVF experience
In her interview, Isha Ambani detailed the physical and emotional challenges of the IVF process. “I’m very quick to say that my twins were conceived via IVF because that’s how we’ll normalize it, right?” she told Vogue India. “Nobody should feel isolated or ashamed. It’s a difficult process. When you’re going through it, you’re physically exhausted,” she added.

Following in Her Mother’s Footsteps
Isha’s openness about IVF mirrors her mother Nita Ambani’s experience. Nita Ambani previously spoke about her struggles with infertility and how she conceived her twins through IVF. “Here I was at the age of 23 being told that I would never conceive. I was shattered. However, with the help of Dr. Firuza Parikh, who is one of my closest friends, I first conceived my twins!” Nita shared in an interview with Vogue.
Isha Ambani’s twins- IVF and modern motherhood
Isha and her husband Anand Piramal welcomed their twins, Aadiya Shakti and Krishna, on November 19, 2022. Reflecting on the role of modern technology in conception, Isha stated,
“If there is modern technology in the world today, why not use it to have children? It should be something you’re excited about, not something you should have to hide. If you can find support groups or other women to talk to, the process can feel much easier.”
The Importance of Female Friendships
Isha also emphasized the importance of female friendships in her life, particularly her close bond with her sister-in-law, Shloka Mehta Ambani. Isha, her twin brother Akash, and Shloka attended the same school and developed a strong friendship. “I was very lucky that the person who my brother decided to marry was my best friend, Shloka,” Isha shared. “Shloka became like my sister as we grew up. Even right now, we’re sharing the house in London and we joke that we’re actually married to each other because both Akash and Anand are in Mumbai and we’re here with the kids.”
